My "Convict Conditioning" Progress - Support Press: Day 1
This is video of one set from the first day of my Support Press training, which is Step One of the Press Flag progression from "Convict Conditioning 2" by Paul "Coach" Wade. With the Support Press, you start out using a wide grip and gradually move the hand on the vertical bar closer to the horizontal bar. I am starting out with 5 second sets and working up to 10 seconds before moving the grip in closer. Once you can hold the close grip for 10 seconds, it's on to Step Two.

"Death Of An American: The Killing Of John Singer" by David Fleisher and David M. Freedman
In January 1979 John Singer, a hard-working, self-reliant Utah farmer,
was shot and killed by a state law enforcement officer during an arrest
attempt.
His death came after six years of conflict with the courts over his insistence on educating his daughter at home, in accordance with his Mormon beliefs.
John Singer clearly broke the state law, but was the principle worth dying for?
A powerful examination of the events, after which Singer's wife filed a lawsuit through famed lawyer Gerry Spence against Utah officials, including the Governor, in a landmark case of parents' rights, and a loving family man who died in a fight for personal and religious freedom.

The Crime and Punishment of I.G. Farben by Joseph Borkin
The startling account of the unholy alliance of Adolph Hitler and Germany's great chemical combine
I.G. Farben was a German chemical industry conglomerate. Its name is taken from Interessen-Gemeinschaft Farbenindustrie AG (Syndicate [literally, "community of interests"] of dye-making corporations). The company was formed in 1925 from a number of major chemical companies that had been working together closely since World War I. During its heyday I.G. Farben was the largest chemical company in the world and the fourth largest overall industrial concern, after General Motors, U.S. Steel and Standard Oil (New Jersey).
I.G. Farben was involved in numerous war crimes during World War II. It was seized by the Allies in 1945 and liquidated in 1952. It still nominally exists as an asset-less shell, with the stated goal of paying restitution to the victims of its many crimes in the form of compensation and reparations.

The Epworth Phenomena: Paranormal Experiences From The Journal Of John Wesley
It is fairly certain that Galileo never said, "It moves, for all that," and that Wellington never said, "Up, Guards, and at 'em!" And one humorous writer has proved that Napoleon never existed, so perhaps Waterloo was never fought, and no enemy there for the Guards to be up and at. History, in short, is an uncertain affair. It depends on fallible human testimony; and though most of us are agreed on the principal points, even these cannot be coercively proved, and from them there spreads a region of ever-increasing dimness, where many things are lost, all outlines are indistinct, and illusions and false perspectives abound. Who was the Man in the Iron Mask? Was William Rufus murdered, or killed accidentally? Did Branwell Bronte make love to his employer's wife? Did D. D. Home really float out of one window and in at another? We do not know. How then shall we expect to know exactly what happened in the parental home of John Wesley two hundred years ago, or the exact details of ghost stories and the like that were told him on his travels? No certainty is attainable. Each must judge for himself-or must suspend judgment-and the verdict will depend partly on the evidence, partly on our knowledge or ignorance of similar cases, and partly on our emotional bias if we have any. Anyhow, as John Wesley quaintly says, no great harm will be done "provided those who believe and those who disbelieve . . . have but patience with each other."
Concerning the psychic disturbances of a poltergeist nature at Epworth Vicarage, in 1716 during its occupancy by Rev. Samuel Wesley, father of Methodist Church founder John Wesley. "Most if not all of Wesley's biographers agree that what has come generally to be known as "The Epworth Case" is one of the best authenticated and related instances of supernormal happenings in the history of psychical research. Even Mr. Frank Podmore admits that "this is at once the most fully authenticated case in the literature of the subject and the most instructive for those that read with understanding"; and in Dr Fitchett's opinion "the evidence, if it were given in a court of law, and in a trial for murder, would suffice to hang any man. "

"The Jesus Papyrus" by Carsten Peter Thiede and Matthew D'Ancona
In 1901, the Reverend Charles B. Huleatt acquired three pieces of a New Testament manuscript on the murky antiquities market of Luxor, Egypt. He donated these papyrus fragments to his alma mater, Magdalen College in Oxford, England, where they sat in a display case and drew very little attention. Nearly a century later, the fragments--part of the Gospel of Matthew and thought to date from a.d. 180-200--were reevaluated by scholar Carsten Peter Thiede. His research showed the bits of papyrus to be significantly older, written about a.d. 60.
But what is all the fuss about? How can three ancient papyrus fragments be so significant? How did Thiede arrive at this radical early dating? And what does it mean to the average Christian? Now readers have authoritative answers to these pivotal questions, in a book written by Thiede himself and by Times of London journalist Matthew d'Ancona, who originally broke the story to the public. Indeed, the Magdalen Papyrus corroborates three traditions: Saint Matthew actually wrote the Gospel bearing his name; he wrote it within a generation of Jesus' death; and the Gospel stories about Jesus are true. Some will vehemently deny Thiede's claims, others will embrace them, but nobody can ignore "THE JESUS PAPYRUS."

"The Two Babylons" by Alexander Hislop
Originally published as a pamphlet in 1853, and expanded to book length
in 1858, "The Two Babylons" seeks to demonstrate a connection between the
ancient Babylonian mystery religions and practices of the Roman Catholic
Church. Often controversial, yet always engaging, "The Two Babylons"
comes from an era when disciplines such as archeology and anthropology
were in their infancy, and represents an early attempt to synthesize
many of the findings of these areas and Biblical truth.
Alexander Hislop (Born at Duns, Berwickshire, 1807; died Arbroath, 13 March 1865) was a Free Church of Scotland minister, infamous for his outspoken criticisms of the Roman Catholic Church. He was the son of Stephen Hislop (died 1837), a mason by occupation and an elder of the Relief Church. Alexander's brother was also named Stephen Hislop (lived 1817–1863) and became well known in his time as a missionary to India and a naturalist. Alexander was for a time parish schoolmaster of Wick, Caithness. In 1831 he married Jane Pearson. He was for a time editor of the Scottish Guardian newspaper. As a probationer he joined the Free Church of Scotland at the Disruption of 1843. He was ordained in 1844 at the East Free Church, Arbroath, where he became senior minister in 1864. He died of a paralytic stroke the next year after being ill for about two years. He wrote several books, his most famous being "The Two Babylons: Or The Papal Worship proved to be the worship of Nimrod and his wife."

"Messages From Heaven" by Jim Tetlow
A Biblical examination of the Queen of Heaven's messages in the End
Times. Tens of millions visit apparition sites hoping to encounter
Mary, the mother of Jesus. Many believe these increasing manifestations
signal the advent of a new era on earth. Thousands of messages from the
apparition of Mary indicate that we are entering a critical moment in
world history - cataclysmic changes may soon occur. Those who follow the
apparitions believe Mary has come to turn us back to God, while others
insist that these events are either fabrications or the working of
Satan. "Messages From Heaven" tests these messages in light of Scripture
and seeks to answer the following questions: Why does the Queen of
Heaven appeal to so many? What is her relation to the Roman Catholic
Church? Are the Queen's messages heaven sent? Does the Word of God
reveal the origin of these phenomena? Does the Bible anticipate
apparitions, signs and wonders in the last days? How might the Mother of
the Eucharist transform the world in the third millennium? Why does the
Queen center all attention on the Eucharist? Jim Tetlow reviews
volumes of apparitional messages searching for the common thread that
ties all these events together. He presents a thorough and fair
treatment of what may well be the most prolific series of supernatural
events in history. Tetlow is also the producer of three documentaries,
including the companion video, Messages From Heaven.

Explosive Resilience—With the Dynamic Power and Flexible Strength of
Advanced Bridging
Paul Wade’s Convict Conditioning system represents the ultimate distillation of hardcore prison bodyweight training’s most powerful methods. What works was kept. What didn’t, was slashed away. When your life is on the line, you’re not going to mess with less than the absolute best. Thanks to Paul Wade, these ultimate strength survival secrets have been saved for posterity. And for you…
Filmed entirely—and so appropriately—on “The Rock”, Wade’s Convict Conditioning Volume 4, Advanced Bridging: Forging an Iron Spine explodes out of the cellblock to teach you in absolute detail how to progress from the relative ease of a Short Bridge—to the stunning, “1-in-1,000” achievement of the Stand-to-Stand Bridge. Ten progressive steps guide you to inevitable mastery of this ultimate exercise for an unbreakable back.
This home-study course in ultimate survival strength comes replete with bonus material not available in Paul Wade’s original Convict Conditioning book—and numerous key training tips that refine and expand on the original program.

Paul Wade adds a bonus Ten Commandments for Perfect Bridges—which is worth the price of admission alone. And there’s the additional bonus of 4 major Variant drills to add explosivity, fun and super-strength to your core practice.
Whatever you are looking for from your bridges—be it supreme suppleness, a tigrishly powerful spine, extreme resilience against injury, or a godlike level of strength-flexibility—it’s yours for the progressive taking with Convict Conditioning Volume 4, Advanced Bridging: Forging an Iron Spine.

11 Reasons To Do Isometrics: A Report By Bud Jeffries
Logan Christopher and strongman Bud Jeffries have recently put together a DVD set called "Extreme Power with Isometrics."
It's been the most popular thing they have released in a long time, probably because there's not much quality information out there on isometric training.
Bud put together a series of articles on why anyone should be doing isometrics in their training, and has compiled them into a FREE report.

My "Convict Conditioning" Progress - Horizontal Tuck Clutch
I'm really starting to get excited about my progress, the further along I get in my Bodyweight training! Since picking up my copy of "Convict Conditioning 2", I have slowly been integrating the exercises in the new book into my "Convict Conditioning"
program. One of the things I was most excited about getting started on
was the Human Flag progressions. Not only is it a killer workout for
your lateral chain, but it's also one of the coolest things I've ever
seen!
I have completed the Progression Standard of holding the Diagonal Clutch for 10 seconds. I have now moved on to Step 5, the Horizontal Tuck Clutch, which Al Kavadlo is demonstrating for us in the picture. Things are definitely beginning to get a bit tougher. It's a great feeling to be progressing, though. Like I said before, I am SO looking forward to the day when I can hold a full Human Flag!

If any of you are working on the Human Flag, drop a comment, or email me and let me know how you're progressing. If not, what are you waiting for? Get your copies of "Convict Conditioning" and "Convict Conditioning 2" today, and GET BUSY!

The Companion Bible Appendix # 188 - "Another King" (Acts 7:18, 19)
This is a new feature I have started on my blog. As often as I can, I will be posting one of the 198 Appendices of the Companion Bible.
It is an amazing study and reference tool,
and I thought that it might be helpful and
interesting to preview some of the resources
available in it. This Bible was compiled by one of the
great scholars of the past, Dr. E.W. Bullinger. You can check out some of his other books here. If you would like to access the entire Companion Bible in an online edition, it is available here. Hope you find this interesting and inspiring.

Steve McHenry Joins The Media Assassins Network
The Media Assassins would like to welcome Steve McHenry to the group! Steve is a
voice over artist that can do just about anything. Those of you that listen to the Tunecast Podcast can hear Steve doing both the introduction, and the closing outro of the show. Steve can be
hired via his website at Voice123.
The Media Assassins Network is a
collection of blogs, podcasts, radio-stations, and web-pages that are
dedicated to serving up various types of media for readers and
listeners. Most of us have normal, paying jobs, and do what we do because
we enjoy it. The reason for the Network is to bring us together and help
promote each other via commercials, banners, shout-outs, and even
offering “one hand washes the other” services. If you would like
to join forces with the Media Assassins, send an email to
feedback@mydigitalife.net.
Steve's Note:
Thanks to Rob Stinney and John Basso for inviting me to get on board. Looking forward to what the future holds.
