Press Release: Blessed Leaf Announces Release of Kairos

March 13, 2014 (Miami, Fla.) — Kyle Hoover and Chris Kelly, the leaders of BlessedLeaf.com, a Christian cigar-based ministry, announce the release of the long anticipated Blessed Leaf Kairos.

“This is a project that has been in our hearts for over a year. Our vision was to produce a great cigar with vintage tobaccos and have the proceeds go to ministry and missions efforts.” noted Kyle Hoover.

“For this project, we went back to our roots: Nicaraguan tobacco! This is a Nicaraguan puro in the Ezra Zion genre of blending. Since we are doing this for The Lord, it had to be the best work we could possibly do!” added Chris Kelly.

The Blessed Leaf Kairos is a 52 x 6.25 box press. The wrapper is Corojo 99 Rosado. The filler includes ligeros from Esteli and Jalapa. Total production is 4000 cigars of 100 boxes and 5 packs.

The Blessed Leaf Kairos is produced at the Casa Fernandez factory in Miami, Florida.

“We chose the name Kairos because of it’s unique meaning to this project. Kairos is defined as a specific moment in time when the Divine intervenes directly into your life. To us, there is a duel application. Obviously, as a person smokes the cigar they will have a “heavenly” smoking experience. Secondly, that the support raised for Christian missions will impact people’s lives with the gospel of Christ.” added Hoover.

The Blessed Leaf Kairos will be available for pre-order on BlessedLeaf.com and CigarFederation.com. The official launch herf will be on April 2 on BlessedLeaf.com.

Launch Of New Cigar-Themed Christian Ministry, "Blessed Leaf"

Kyle Hoover, co-owner of Ezra Zion Cigar Company and CigarFederation.com, announces the launch of a new cigar-themed Christian ministry, Blessed Leaf.

“Blessed Leaf is a unique idea, something that has never been done before. It’s a faith community–or in more basic terms–an “online church” for cigar smokers.” noted Hoover.

On BlessedLeaf.com, aficionados can create a profile page to join the Blessed Leaf community. Members can post content, access media, read faith-based articles and cigar reviews designed to strengthen them in their Christian walk.

“I know two things: The Bible and cigars. This is the culmination of a dream to bring those two passions together. My prayer is that this is a catalyst for cigar enthusiasts to become closer to Jesus, whether they have a relationship with Him now or not.” Hoover continued.

Beginning September 4th at 6pm CST, “Blessed Leaf LIVE!” will air on the BlessedLeaf.com homepage. This hour long show serves as the weekly service and will air every Wednesday evening. It will be hosted by Kyle Hoover and Chris Kelly. Guests will include believers from all around the cigar industry.

“A major part of this vision is the Featured Contributors. I want to create a platform where these guys can share their testimonies and teachings that will bless and encourage the members of Blessed Leaf. These are BOTL that either work professionally in the cigar industry or are avid cigar smokers in full-time pastoral ministry. Guys like Brian Berman, Kip Fisher, Nate McIntyre, The Don Fonseca, and my pastor Niles Holsinger will be posting some life-changing stuff.”

Saint Patrick's Day Hailstorm In Stevenson Ranch, California

We had a sudden one minute hailstorm today, Saint Patrick's Day 2012, in Stevenson Ranch, CA. It came out of nowhere, lasted about a minute, and then it was gone. Doesn't take much to get us excited!

My Wife's Covert Mission - Operation: Hollywood Sign

This morning, Saturday February 25, 2012 at 05:30, my wife Jennifer, along with two accomplices we'll call, "Matt" and "David," (actually, those are their real names - I'm just trying to inject a little intrigue) left on a Top Secret, early morning mission to the world famous Hollywood sign. Their objective: Climb the mountain where the sign is located, scale the security fence surrounding the property, approach the sign, touch it, get photographic evidence of the mission's completion, and escape without detection and arrest.

As you can see by the photos below - mission accomplished! I'm so happy that my wife was able to achieve this dream, and cross it off her "Bucket List." Everyone made it back safely, although "David" did take a fall and injured his back. I hope he'll be okay, and that he heals quickly.

You may be wondering why I was not along for the adventure. Two words - IT'S ILLEGAL! I am envious in a way, even though the goody-two-shoes, must obey the "rules" part of me would never allow myself to do such a thing. Not only that, but I have to admit that the older I get, the more boring I seem to become. There are plenty of other less harrowing adventures that Jennifer has on her agenda, so I'm looking forward to lots of other fun times to come. Thanks to Matt and David for accompanying Jen on this one, and being her partners in crime!

She made it!

Dragon  Door's Most Popular Russian Kettlebell Weighs 35lb (16kg)—And Is The  Ideal Size For Most Men To Jumpstart Their New Cardio, Conditioning and  Strength Programs

Dragon Door and Pavel Tsatsouline re-introduced kettlebells to the US with their uniquely designed 35lb cast iron kettlebell—and it has remained our most popular kettlebell. Why?
Even a man of average initial strength can immediately start using the 35lb kettlebell for two-handed swings and quickly gravitate to one-handed swings, followed by jerks, cleans and snatches.
Within a few weeks you can expect to see spectacular gains in overall strength and conditioning—and for many—significant fat loss.
Stronger men and more experienced weightlifters and powerlifters can use the 35lb kettlebell to train themselves effectively in the many excellent drills you'll find in Pavel's classic book and DVD, Enter the Kettlebell!.
The 35 lb kettlebell quickly becomes a favorite for women too, once they have built up their strength using Dragon Door's lighter kettlebells. (Women, we recommend you start with either the 26lb kettlebell or the 18lb kettlebell initially.)
