"The Two Babylons" by Alexander Hislop

Originally published as a pamphlet in 1853, and expanded to book length in 1858, "The Two Babylons" seeks to demonstrate a connection between the ancient Babylonian mystery religions and practices of the Roman Catholic Church. Often controversial, yet always engaging, "The Two Babylons" comes from an era when disciplines such as archeology and anthropology were in their infancy, and represents an early attempt to synthesize many of the findings of these areas and Biblical truth.

Alexander Hislop (Born at Duns, Berwickshire, 1807; died Arbroath, 13 March 1865) was a Free Church of Scotland minister, infamous for his outspoken criticisms of the Roman Catholic Church. He was the son of Stephen Hislop (died 1837), a mason by occupation and an elder of the Relief Church. Alexander's brother was also named Stephen Hislop (lived 1817–1863) and became well known in his time as a missionary to India and a naturalist. Alexander was for a time parish schoolmaster of Wick, Caithness. In 1831 he married Jane Pearson. He was for a time editor of the Scottish Guardian newspaper. As a probationer he joined the Free Church of Scotland at the Disruption of 1843. He was ordained in 1844 at the East Free Church, Arbroath, where he became senior minister in 1864. He died of a paralytic stroke the next year after being ill for about two years. He wrote several books, his most famous being "The Two Babylons: Or The Papal Worship proved to be the worship of Nimrod and his wife."

Giant Footprint with Michael Tellinger & Klaus Dona - January 2012

Michael Tellinger and Klaus Dona visit the giant footprint in South Africa on the January 17, 2012. They talk about the mystery of this footprint in rough granite, and debunk those who believe that it is a fake footprint carved by pranksters. This amazing human-like footprint remains one of the least known of the many great mysteries on Earth. The being that left this footprint would have been about 7.5 meters tall - this supports the findings of giant skeletons of about 7.5m that Klaus Dona made in Ecuador.

Giant Foot Print In South Africa

Michael Tellinger shows off what could be one of the best pieces of evidence that there were giants on Earth a long, long time ago. Geologists have marvelled at this giant foot print in rough granite, about 4 feet long. Some still say that it is a natural erosion pattern.
Personally I find that suggestion highy improbable for various reasons that I will not go into here. Prof. Pieter Wagener from UPE, suggests that "there is a higher probability of little green men arriving from space and licking it out with their tongues, than being created by natural erosion".
It is located in South Africa, near the town of Mpaluzi, close to the Swaziland border. It is estimated to be between 200 million and 3 Billion years old, because of our current understanding of the formation of granites in Earth's history. This dating immediately causes great debate and argument - so I urge you to keep your mind open and focused on the evidence.
This amazing footprint in granite was discovered in 1912 by a hunter called Stoffel Coetzee, while hunting in the remote area. At the time this was a deeply remote part of South Africa known as the Eastern Transvaal, teeming with wild life, including antelope and lions. It remains in the same condition as it was when first discovered, and the possibility that this was a carved hoax is extremely low because of its remote location. Even today, it is difficult to find.
The real mystery is how this amazing phenomenon occured - I have no idea - but here it is, and we cannot wish it away.
YES - It is granite - it is a well recognised geological part of South Africa and recorded on all geological maps - that is why this footprint is such an incredible mystery. It can be desribed as a "phenocrystic" granite, OR coarse porphyritic granite, that underwent several different stages of cooling. The result being an interesting mixture of large and small granules. This is why granite companies are keen to mine this area for granite, because it will look really "pretty" when polished. In the official Geology Of South Africa, this outcrop is called Mpuluzi Batholith (Granite) and the official dating of this rock produced dates of around 3.1 billion years.
A real mystery that needs close scientific examination.

The Book of the Giants by W. B. Henning

iconThe Book of the Giants. The acts of the Giant Ogias (Og of Bashan)
The Manichean text. Translation by W. B. Henning

Plus the Dead Sea Scrolls Book of Giants Text.

Ogias the Giant is thought to have been based on the Book of Enoch, a possibly pseudepigraphical Jewish work from the 3rd Century B.C., itself based on an obscure passage from concerning Nephilim, which, in the Enoch version, are the offspring of fallen angels they saw the beauty of the daughters of men, married them, and thus fathered Giants in the land. The book concerns itself with filling in the details about the giants and their offspring that the Book of Enoch is lacking.

"Now the giants were upon the earth in those days; and after that when the sons of God were wont to go in to the daughters of men, they bore children to them, those were the giants of old, the men of renown."
